Rick Kreeck

Victoria & South Australia Lead at BG&E

Rick Kreeck is the Victoria/South Australia Lead at BG&E and is tasked with raising the company’s profile and creating opportunities to undertake design roles on major projects for clients in the Transport and Infrastructure, Property, Ports and Marine, Water, Defence, Renewables and Resources sectors. His approach is underpinned by mutually-rewarding trusted relationships with clients and other stakeholders, as well as by decades of experience in understanding client’s needs and helping them to achieve their strategic and project objectives. He is a Director on the Board of BG&E and of the Facades’ and New Zealand businesses, as well as chairs the Safety, Quality & Risk Committee and COVID Committee. Rick previously chaired the Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Committee, led BG&E’s Reconciliation Action Plan and served on the Steering Committee for the Sydney Metro West project. Rick has worked as Project Manager for the design consortium Arcadis BG&E Joint Venture for the Sydney Metro: City and Southwest Tunnel Station Excavation project, which delivered permanent structures, deep shoring retention structures, associated temporary works and site civil works for stations, dive structures and access points for 16-kilometre twin tunnels. He led BG&E’s Materials business since its inception in 2012, to its current status as one of the largest materials consultancies in Australia. Under Rick’s leadership, the Materials team worked on projects in several countries around the world and helped client to resolve technically complex issues. Rick also played a key role on many major projects, including the Pacific Highway upgrade, Roy Hill, Ichthys, Sydney Opera House VAPS, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, The Opus and Wembley Stadium, and he provides Expert Witness services when required. Prior to joining BG&E, Rick worked for more than 10 years at Readymix and Rinker Australia in a wide variety of roles, including work on some of Australia’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects, including CityLink Melbourne, Eastern Distributor, World Tower, the M7, Epping to Chatswood Rail Link and the Lane Cove Tunnel. He has lectured on matters relating to concrete technology, served on Standards Committees and managed the development of new concrete mixes that utilise recycled materials. Rick also worked for more than five years as a Senior Manager at EY. He provided advisory services to key companies in the construction industry, including Meriton, Grocon, MacMahon Contractors, Hindmarsh Constructions and CIC. A native Melbournian, Rick is well regarded by clients for his professionalism, technical and commercial expertise, and he has an affinity with fairness, transparency and integrity. Outside of the office, he is a keen runner, plays music when he can, and enjoys every moment spent with his family and friends.
