William Hinkle

Principal Systems Engineer at BGI

William Hinkle has a strong background in systems engineering and training development. William started their career as an Engineering Co-Op at SGS Tool Company in 1990. William then worked at Lockheed Martin from 1991 to 2001, initially as a Software Engineer, later being promoted to Senior Software Engineer. Their responsibilities included designing and testing visual and sensor terrain databases for Flight Training Devices and developing Digital Topographic Support Systems for military planning and operations. At Lockheed Martin, they also served as a Systems Engineer Staff from 2001 to 2016, where they specialized in Distributed Mission Training and Systems Engineering activities for various military branches and integrated 3rd and 5th GEN aircraft training systems into distributed training environments. In 2014, Hinkle joined BGI, LLC as a Principal Systems Engineer, where they became a Subject Matter Expert in Distributed Mission Training and Systems Engineering activities, specifically for the USAF CAF DMO, USMC ADVTE, USN NCTE, and UK DOTC(A). William focused on the integration of 5th GEN aircraft training systems into a distributed Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training environment. Their expertise also extended to the design and development of data logging, analysis, and visualization for LVC training systems.

William Hinkle earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Akron from 1984 to 1990. William then pursued a Master's degree in Systems Engineering from Southern Methodist University from 2009 to 2011.
