Dr. Sujatha Pushpakanth

Dr. Sujatha Pushpakanth has extensive work experience in various research and development roles. Dr. Sujatha started their career as a Quality Engineer at Timo Plast Pvt Ltd in 1996 and then worked as an Assistant Manager at Ranaday Analabs in 1997. From 1998 to 2002, they served as a Technologist at the Centre for Materials for Electronic Technology. Dr. Sujatha then worked as a Research Assistant at the National Chemical Laboratory from 2002 to 2003.

Dr. Pushpakanth's career in research and development continued as a Senior Research Fellow at the Central Leather Research Institute from 2003 to 2006, where they conducted experiments on biomaterials and developed a novel sol-gel technique for Hydroxyapatite implants. Dr. Sujatha then joined the Georgia Institute of Technology as an Assistant Professorship Fellow in 2006, where they supervised research teams and projects focused on nanomaterials for cancer applications.

In 2007, Dr. Pushpakanth became a Research Engineer at GE Global Research, where they spearheaded several research and development projects. Dr. Sujatha developed high-performance ceramic composites and worked on polymer density optimization for improved product performance. From 2011 to 2014, they served as the R & D Head - Corp, India and DGM at CUMI India Pvt Ltd.

Currently, they hold the role of VP & Technical Director (New Product & Technology) at Bharat Forge Ltd since 2014. In this position, they work on developing new products and technologies for various industries, including automotive, catalysts, specialty chemicals, and coating technology. Dr. Sujatha has also been involved in the design and development of healthcare products, including orthopedic implants. Dr. Pushpakanth has filled 16 patents and successfully commercialized three products.

Dr. Sujatha Pushpakanth received a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Madras from 2002 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained an M.Tech in Polymer Science & Engineering from Anna University from 1995 to 1996, and an M.Sc in Applied Chemistry from Anna University from 1993 to 1995. Dr. Pushpakanth completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Madras, earning a B.Sc in Chemistry from 1990 to 1993. Additionally, they have received a certification as the "Best Reviewer Liver pool, UK" from the UK Ministry of International Journal.
