Surjit Kumar Behera's work experience includes roles at Bharti AXA Life Insurance, Life Insurance Corporation of India, and Nicholas Piramal India Ltd. At Bharti AXA Life Insurance, they served as Vice President - Finance (Head - MIS, Investment Ops, Taxation, Fixed Assets & Lease Payment Mgmt) and Vice President - Finance. SURJIT KUMAR was also the Head of Financial Reporting and Taxation, and previously held the position of Head of Taxation, where they were responsible for compliance of direct tax matters, transfer pricing assessment, TDS, service tax, works contract tax, VAT, and advisory role in the implementation of taxation laws. Before joining Bharti AXA Life Insurance, Surjit worked as an Administrative Officer and Assistant Administrative Officer at Life Insurance Corporation of India. Additionally, they worked as an Accounts Officer at Nicholas Piramal India Ltd.

Surjit Kumar Behera completed their B.Com in Accountancy from Berhampur University from 1995 to 1997. Afterwards, they pursued an ACA degree from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, from 1997 to 2002.
