Katie Barnes

Katie Barnes, PHR has extensive work experience in human resources and talent management. Katie is currently the Chief People Officer at BHG Financial, where they are responsible for managing the strategy and processes related to attracting, building, and retaining exceptional talent. Prior to this role, they served as the Vice President, People at BHG Financial, where they provided strategic direction to the People Development function for an organization of over 1,000 employees. Katie also held the position of Director, People at BHG Financial, where they led the human resources function and implemented innovative HR programs. Earlier in their career, Katie worked as a Human Resources Manager at Aerotek and gained experience in recruitment and account management. Additionally, they are a Founding Member of Chief, a private network designed for senior women leaders.

Katie Barnes, PHR, completed their Bachelor's of Science in Event Management from the University of Central Florida, where they studied Hospitality Management from 2007 to 2010. Katie also holds several certifications in Human Resources, including the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation obtained in March 2021 from HRCI. Prior to that, they obtained the PHR certification in March 2018 and the Professional in Human Resources certification in June 2014, both from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
