Ana Vargas Olivares

Ana Vargas Olivares is an experienced professional in chemical engineering with a focus on process control and metallurgical development. Currently serving as Superintendent Control CIO at BHP since March 2019, Ana oversees production plans and ensures compliance with safety and operational standards. Previous roles at BHP include various supervisory positions and a focus on process operations at the Minera Spence site. Prior to BHP, Ana worked at Anglo American in roles centered on metallurgical development and operational efficiency. Ana's career began with internships at Codelco, where foundational experiences in electrorefining and data analysis were acquired. Ana holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso.
