Bethany Hipp

Bethany Hipp is currently the Head of Ethics & Compliance Commercial at BHP, where they oversee the global compliance program and engage with senior leaders on a range of compliance issues. They are also the Principal of Sphera Consulting, focusing on compliance and investigations. Previously, Bethany held significant roles including Senior Regulatory Counsel at Rio Tinto and Senior Counsel at BHP Billiton, where they managed anti-corruption and trade compliance globally. They began their career as a Legislative Assistant for International Trade at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP and served as an Honors Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division. Bethany earned their law degree from Emory University School of Law in 2004.
