Jayson Smeeton

Jayson Smeeton has extensive experience in the mining and resource industry, with a career spanning over 18 years. Currently serving as Manager Planning Technical & Environment PMO at BHP since January 2016, Jayson has held various managerial positions within the company including Manager Engineering, Mining Manager, Transition Manager, and Mining Superintendent Analysis and Improvement. Prior to joining BHP, Jayson worked at Fortescue Metals Group from September 2007 to December 2015 as Quarry Manager and Mining Superintendent. Jayson’s earlier experience includes serving as Operations Supervisor at Downer from January 2005 to August 2007. Jayson holds an Advanced Double Diploma in Management and Mining from the East Perth Institute of Technology and completed education at South Metropolitan College from 2000 to 2003.
