Parker Wood has over 40 years of work experience. Parker began their career in 1973 as an Engineer at Extrion. In 1975, they became an Engineer at National Semiconductor and National Semiconductor Corporation. In 1990, they moved to VLSI Technology as an Engineer. In 2001, they became an Adjunct Faculty at Northwest Vista College, and a Director of Design Engineering at Advanced Bio Prosthetic Surfaces. In 2006, they took on the role of Director of Design Engineering at Cardio-Spectra. In 2008, they became the Director of Engineering at Volcano Corporation. In 2009, they became the Director of Mechanical Engineering at Bio2 Medical, Inc. Finally, in 2013, they retired from Zuehl Field Engineer at Large.

Parker Wood began their education in 1959 at Dover High School, where they completed their high school studies in 1963. Parker then attended Wentworth Institute of Technology, where they received an ASSO.ME in Engineering in 1965. Parker continued their studies at the University of New Hampshire, where they received a BS-ME in Engineering in 1971.
