Richard Franklin

Head Of Media Production at Bible Society

Richard Franklin has a varied work experience spanning several roles and companies. Richard started their career as a reporter at Severn Sound Radio in 1989 and then moved on to BBC Radio Gloucestershire as a weekend breakfast presenter and news producer in 1990. In 1991, they joined Chiltern Radio Limited where they held various roles such as head of news and programs and presenter until 1995. From 1995 to 2009, Richard worked at ITV as a news producer, deputy newsdesk editor, bulletin editor, and reporter/presenter. In 2009, they joined Bible Society as a senior press officer and eventually became the head of media production responsible for video and podcast output, film work commissioning, and editing.

Richard Franklin attended University of Central Lancashire from 1987 to 1988, where they completed a Post-Grad in Radio and TV Journalism. Prior to that, they studied English Literature and Media at Manchester University from 1984 to 1987. Before their university studies, they attended Barton Peveril Sixth Form College from 1981 to 1984. Richard'searlier education took place at The Mountbatten School in Romsey, Hampshire, from 1976 to 1981.
