John Hanger is the Founder and CEO of BiblioNexus, launched in April 2023, focused on enhancing Bible access in over 7,000 languages. Prior to this role, Hanger was self-employed from August 2020 to June 2023, taking a hiatus from full-time work while engaging in limited consulting and advisory roles. Hanger served as the Director on the Board of Clear Bible from June 2022 to May 2023, which is now incorporated into Biblica. Previously, as Senior Director of Special Projects at Carvana from April 2018 to July 2020, Hanger led initiatives to innovate car sales through partnerships and software development. Hanger was also President and CEO of CAR360 Inc from March 2017 until its acquisition by Carvana, where the platform enhanced car merchandising through advanced technology. Earlier career highlights include a 13-year tenure at Contact At Once! as SVP & General Manager, where leadership contributed to significant growth and accolades, and serving as President & CEO at Flamenco Networks, Inc. Hanger's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, completed in 1987.

There are 7k+ languages in the world. Less than 10% have a full Bible. That's Bible poverty. BiblioNexus is helping eradicate Bible poverty with open source software. BiblioNexus consists of the BiblioNexus Foundation and the BiblioNexus Studio. The BiblioNexus Foundation is facilitating the Bible translation movement’s journey from “open licensed” products built and managed like proprietary products, to a truly collaborative open source community. The BiblioNexus Studio is a team of experienced software specialists (paid open source contributors), with a co-founder ethos, able to successfully design, build, and deploy new software products on a repeatable basis in partnership with Bible translation organizations.
