Catherine Rowland

Catherine Rowland is a highly experienced Principal Scientist at Bicycle Therapeutics, leading a team focused on Anti-Infectives projects since February 2019. Key responsibilities include conducting research on phage display campaigns and assay biology, managing CROs, establishing academic collaborations, overseeing line management, and authoring team objectives along with grant writing. Prior to this role, Catherine was a Research Scientist within the same organization, developing antimicrobial bicyclic peptides and conducting screening campaigns. Catherine earned a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Warwick, where research centered on mechanisms of resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics in Streptococcus pneumoniae. Earlier experiences include an intercalated year at Micropathology Ltd, working with diagnostic technologies, and a role as a Sales Assistant at Blacks Leisure Group. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from the University of Warwick.
