Janice Bourque

Janice Bourque is the current director at Bicycle Therapeutics. Prior to this, they were with Comerica Bank from April 2005 to March 2009 as the SVP and Group Head of Life Sciences. Under their leadership, the Life Sciences Commercial Debt Group turned around an under-performing team. Janice leveraged their industry contacts to restore and rebuild the customer base, increased business flow by 50 opportunities per year generating referral transactions by cross selling trust, foreign exchange, cash management and other bank products services.

Bourque is known for closing highly visible deals which were previously unachievable, improving the perception of the bank and resulting in higher profitability through deposits and debt size. Janice also created a Venture Capital Advisory board with managing directors from top 12 Life Sciences Venture Funds. In addition, they mentored and rebuilt their team into a collaborative and responsive unit.

During their time at Comerica Bank, Bourque was responsible for financing significant deals through creative venture debt financing. Janice originated $600K in largest office fee through a successful $5M lawsuit debt financing. Janice also closed on $5-7M debt bridge financing (per deal) for top 3 M&A deals in biotech industry. As a result of these deals, they generated $1.3M in warrant income due to customer acquisitions & deal structure. Lastly, they co-financed $10-20M debt facility (per deal) for 2 major leading biotech firms.
