Dr. Mariam Mohamed Fatima Matar M.D.

Dr. Mariam Mohamed Fatima Matar, MD PhD, is a prominent leader in genetic disorders and public health in the UAE, serving as the Founder and Chairperson of the UAE Genetic Diseases Association since January 2004. With extensive experience in various advisory and leadership roles, Dr. Matar is a member of the Global Commission to End the Diagnostic Odyssey for Children and serves on boards and committees for several organizations, including Dubai Cares, Operation ASHA, and the Zayed Sustainability Prize. Previously, Dr. Matar held the position of Director General at the Community Development Authority, making significant contributions to social policies in Dubai. An advocate for women's leadership in STEM, Dr. Matar also participates in initiatives aimed at promoting educational access and advancing women's roles in traditionally male-dominated fields.
