Emily Maiello has extensive experience in animal care and environmental education. At Bideawee, Emily is an Animal Care Specialist, providing medical treatment and overall care for dogs and cats awaiting adoption. Additionally, Emily has worked as a Pet Sitter, providing tailored care for domestic animals. Emily has also interned at Vassar College and Millbrook School, gaining experience in caring for a variety of animals. In their role as a Phonathon Caller at Vassar College, Emily successfully raised over $2,000 in donations and helped maintain the school's alumnae/i network.

With locations in Manhattan, Westhampton and Wantagh, Bideawee was founded in 1903 by Mrs. Flora D'Auby Jenkins Kibbe. Bideawee, which means "stay awhile" in Scottish, is one of the first no-kill organizations in the United States.
