Dr Matus Vadura

Dr Matus Vadura has a broad range of work experience in the field of network engineering and security. Dr Matus began their career as a Junior Network Engineer at Slovanet, where they provided 2nd line network support and handled various network configurations and documentation.

After that, Dr Vadura worked at King's College London as a PhD Researcher in Network Security and Teaching Assistant. Their research focused on DDoS attacks and vulnerabilities in protocols such as DNS and NTP. Dr Matus also delivered lectures and tutorials on internet systems and digital forensics.

Following their time at King's College London, Dr Vadura joined Options Technology as a Network Engineer. Dr Matus played a crucial role in designing and implementing network projects, providing firewall expertise, and troubleshooting complex issues.

In 2020, Dr Vadura joined OxFORD Asset Management LLP as a Senior Network Engineer. Their responsibilities included redesigning the network infrastructure for high availability, security, and low latency to support the firm's high-frequency trading activities. Dr Matus also gained expertise in various network technologies such as BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, and network automation tools like Python and Ansible.

Currently, Dr Vadura is working at BidFX as the Head of Networks. Their role involves overseeing the network operations and strategizing network development for the company.

Dr. Matus Vadura completed their education in the field of computer science and information systems. Dr Matus obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science from King's College London, where they studied from 2013 to 2018. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Management and Information Systems at The University of Manchester from 2011 to 2012. Dr Matus also holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer, Communications Systems & Networks from Slovenská technická univerzita v Bratislave, where they studied from 2008 to 2011.

In addition to their formal education, Dr. Vadura has pursued various certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills. Dr Matus obtained certifications from Cisco, including Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert Enterprise Infrastructure (CCIE-EI) in November 2021, Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security) in February 2017, Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing and Switching (CCNP R&S) in August 2012, and Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security) in February 2014. Dr Matus also holds certifications as a Network Security Architect (NSE7) and Network Security Professional (NSE4) from Fortinet, obtained in January 2020 and September 2019 respectively. Furthermore, they obtained Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA R&S) certification in April 2013.
