Les Moodley

Les Moodley has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Les has held various leadership roles in different companies. Their most recent role is as Operations Director at Bidvest Tank Terminals since November 2021. Prior to that, they served as Technical Director at the same company from February 2019 to October 2021. Les has also worked as Operations Director and Regional Director at Bidvest Tank Terminals, providing strategic leadership to the operations team nationally and within specific regions.

Before joining Bidvest Tank Terminals, Les worked as a Project Director/Executive Director at Parsons Brinckerhoff and as a Business Unit Manager: Quality Services at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff in Africa. Les also served as Managing Director at SGS Emoyeni Qualitest (Pty) Ltd and as Regional Engineering Manager - Southern Africa at Shell.

Les's earlier work experience includes roles such as Engineering Manager and Section Engineer at Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper, Engineering Superintendent and Engineering Technician at KK Animal Nutrition, Process Technician, Design Draughtsman, and Trainee Draughtsman at Behr, and Trainee Technician at Engen.

Throughout their career, Les has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and expertise in operations, maintenance, projects, health and safety management, and environmental management.

Les Moodley has a comprehensive education history spanning several institutions and disciplines. Their educational journey began in 1990 at the Durban University of Technology, where they obtained a National Diploma (T3) in Mechanical Engineering in 1993. Following this, Les pursued further studies in the same field and received a Higher National Diploma (T4) in Mechanical Engineering from the Durban University of Technology in 1995. Les continued to pursue higher education and earned a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Durban University of Technology between 1996 and 1998.

In 1999, Les expanded their knowledge base by enrolling at Durban Technical College and completed a Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) - Factories in Mechanical Engineering, which they successfully completed in 2001. Continuing their quest for knowledge, Les enrolled at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where they obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management in 2002. This was followed by their completion of an MBA in Business Management from the same institution, which they accomplished between 2003 and 2007.

Les's most recent educational achievement occurred in 2019 and 2020. During this period, they attended CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), where they attained the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting.
