Mike Jones

Based at the heart of the Arc, Mike is a leading partner in the Milton Keynes planning team, dealing with development projects principally across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Hertfordshire. He specialises in resolving planning issues and negotiating with stakeholders to implement planning strategies and deliver sustainable developments.

Mike’s background is principally within development management and the housing sector, including large-scale strategic planning applications for new settlements and urban extensions. This has enabled him to be adept in the strategic promotion of land of various scales and uses through local and neighbourhood plans.

He prides himself on the variety of his work, from large-scale energy schemes, urban mixed-use developments, residential care, education and civic buildings, and community projects - this includes expert witness work at appeals and local plan examinations.

At MK Gateway, he led the team to secure detailed permission for a high density, sustainable, mixed-use development in Central Milton Keynes. The scheme will feature the tallest building on the CMK skyline and deliver circa 0.5m sq ft of commercial floorspace and 288 BTR apartments. The development enables the re-purposing of the non-designated heritage asset at Saxon Court and provides a start-up facility for local businesses along with an integrated public realm and F&B offer.
