Brian Shepherdson

Brian Shepherdson possesses extensive experience in health and safety management across various sectors. Currently, Brian serves as the Head of Health and Safety and Head of SHQ - Operations & Collections at Biffa, a role held since August 2019. Previously, Brian was the Chair of the National Social Housing Fire Safety Group - North East Region and held the position of Head of Health and Safety at Home Group. Brian’s background includes significant leadership roles in property and facilities management at Virgin Money, where responsibilities encompassed engineering projects, risk management, and third-party relationships. Additionally, Brian has presented at various conferences on topics such as smart building technologies and the impact of technology on facilities management. With an academic foundation in Occupational Health and Safety and Management Studies, Brian has held various health and safety roles since the late 1980s, contributing to national guidance documents and implemented safety management systems.
