Sonia Martinez

Sonia Martinez has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several industries. Sonia began their career as a Senior Programmer at CESIT, where they designed and programmed applications for Volkswagen of Mexico. Sonia then joined Volkswagen de México as a Senior Programmer, where they supported and developed IT applications for Human Resources and Payroll departments.

Sonia then transitioned to The Orange County Register, where they worked as a Sr. Systems Analyst, providing support and development for business applications such as Voice Processing, Call Center, Circulation, and Payroll Systems.

Following that, Sonia joined Freedom Communications Inc. as a Project Manager, leading corporate projects involving IT and multiple business areas. Sonia managed various types of projects, including system upgrades, application development, and migration of systems to the cloud environment.

Next, Sonia worked at REVShare as a Director, IS and Project Management, overseeing information systems and project management. Sonia later served as a Project Manager (Consultant) at REVShare.

Currently, Sonia holds the position of Vice President, Information Technology at Big 5 Sporting Goods. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Information Technology and Senior Project Manager at the same company.

Throughout their career, Sonia has demonstrated expertise in project management, systems analysis, and software development. Sonia has experience leading cross-functional teams and managing both co-located and off-shore development teams.

Sonia Martinez holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla. Sonia has obtained certifications such as Certified Agile Leadership I from Scrum Alliance and a PMP Credential from PMI. Sonia also has additional certifications including Certified Genesys Engineer, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
