Eric Healey has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries and roles. Eric started their career as a Professional Photographer for Kingston Prospect FC and then worked as a Multimedia Journalist for Cornwall Standard-Freeholder. Eric also worked as a Freelance Photojournalist for Sun Media, providing photographs and editorial copy for local news outlets.
Eric then transitioned to the field of photography, working as the owner and chief photographer of Eric Healey Photography, specializing in weddings, family portraits, and photo booths. Eric also worked as a Photographer for The Goodie Bag, a lifestyle and culture blog, and as a Portrait Photographer for Lifetouch, where they managed travel logs and set up on-site studios.
In the field of media and communications, Eric worked as a Sports Editor for Postmedia Network Inc., where they developed engaging sports content for both digital and print publications. Eric then joined Lakeland College Canada as a Graphic Design and Copy Specialist, where they were responsible for graphic design, photography, and social media content creation.
More recently, Eric worked for the City of Lloydminster as a Coordinator of Media & Digital Communications and as an Information Officer for the Incident Management Team during the COVID-19 response. In these roles, they participated in the development and implementation of media and communications strategies, liaising with provincial partners, news media, and the general public to enhance the city's reputation and provide accurate information.
Eric is currently part of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, serving as a Member of the Board of Directors and Vice President. In these roles, Eric is committed to mentoring as a crucial tool for child and youth development and actively advocates and secures resources and partnerships for the organization's mission.
Eric Healey's education history is as follows:
From 2022 to 2022, Eric Healey attended NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) and completed the program for Public Information Officer (CDEM117) in the field of Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management.
In the same year, they also attended the Alberta Emergency Management Association (AEMA) and completed the All-Hazards Incident Management Training (Block 1 & 2), also in the field of Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management.
From 2019 to 2021, Eric Healey studied at the University of Victoria, where they obtained a Diploma in Public Relations.
In 2018, they attended NAIT and completed the CCTD210 - ADOBE PHOTOSHOP LEVEL II program, focusing on Adult and Continuing Education and Teaching.
From 2008 to 2011, they pursued a degree in Truck and Coach at Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology.
In 2004 and 2005, Eric Healey studied at CDI College and obtained a degree in Computer Programmer Analyst.
Additionally, Eric Healey has obtained several certifications, including I-300 ICS (in-person) from the Alberta Emergency Management Agency in October 2022 and I-200 ICS (in-person) from the same institution in May 2022.
Eric has also completed the Indigenous Canada certification from the University of Alberta in December 2021, Indigenous Relations certification from Indigenous Corporate Training Inc. in July 2021, and Indigenous Awareness certification from the same institution in June 2021.
Furthermore, they have earned the Basic Emergency Management certification from the Alberta Emergency Management Agency in May 2020 and completed the I-200 ICS Online and I-100 ICS Online certifications from the same institution in December 2019 and July 2019, respectively.
Finally, Eric Healey obtained the Crisis Communication certification from LinkedIn in February 2019.
