Joanna Reilly

Joanna Reilly has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Their most recent position is Chief Development Officer at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area, where they currently work. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Development and Marketing at New Door Ventures from 2018 to 2021, where they successfully raised more than $16.9M and achieved a positive community reputation. Joanna was also a Leadership Oakland Cohort Member at the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce from 2019 to 2020. Earlier in their career, they held the role of Director of Development at Tech Exchange from 2017 to 2018, and Director of Development at Reading Partners from 2012 to 2017, where they demonstrated expertise in private revenue generation and regional communications. Joanna also gained experience as a Development and Special Events Coordinator at New Directions, Inc. from 2011 to 2012 and as a Communications Aide at Law Offices of Ron S. Galperin from 2009 to 2011. Joanna began their career as an Editorial Intern at Tor Books and as a Marketing and Public Relations Intern at Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin.

Joanna Reilly obtained their B.A. degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, as well as English, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. In 2011 and 2012, they pursued a Fundraising Certificate in Nonprofit Management at UCLA. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Nonprofit Financial Stewardship from the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education in April 2021, as well as a 200 RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) certification from the Yoga Alliance in April 2017.
