Richard Whitney

Richard Whitney has extensive work experience in the construction industry. Richard currently holds the position of Vice President of Operations at Big-D Signature, starting in 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Big-D Construction as a Project Executive from 2009 to 2022. Richard was also an Executive Director of Construction Acquisition at Kaiser Permanente from 2008 to 2013. Before that, they served as a Senior Vice President at UPA Construction Group (BC) Ltd. from 2002 to 2008. Richard Whitney has also worked as a Vice President at R&O Construction, where they created and managed the Large Commercial Division. Richard held the position of Vice President of Land Development at Trophy Homes from 1995 to 1998. Lastly, they worked at Big-D Construction as a Vice President from 1989 to 1994.

Richard Whitney earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah, where they studied from 1978 to 1985. Richard then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Business/Finance at Westminster University, which they completed from 1988 to 1991. In addition to their degrees, Richard Whitney obtained certifications in their field. In October 1989, they became a Professional Engineer through the State of Utah, and in March 2011, they earned the Certified Healthcare Constructor designation from the American Hospital Association.
