Justin Ward has a strong background in data analysis and coordination. From 2017 to 2022, they worked at the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), where they served as both a Data Analyst and Coordinator. In this role, they coordinated a team of data analysts, supported internal staff in improving data sources and visualizations, and developed internal processes for managing the Washington State Report Card. Justin also collected and analyzed data for various stakeholders, prepared data tables and displays, and collaborated with the agency to publish research briefs and annual legislative reports. Prior to their role at OSPI, Justin worked as a Field Work and Science Coordinator at Cascade Forest Conservancy, where they co-authored, edited, and designed a guidebook, incorporated field data into forest management recommendations, and prepared reports for the board of directors and National Forest Service. Earlier in their career, Justin worked as a Secondary Science and English Teacher at Teach For America, where they taught a range of subjects to socioeconomically underprivileged students in a Title I urban high school. Justin also served on the Faculty Advisory Committee and conducted data tracking and analysis to inform their teaching. Currently, Justin is a Data Analyst at Big Fish Games.
Justin Ward completed a Master's degree in Urban Studies/Affairs from Portland State University from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Literature from Arizona State University, which they completed between 2010 and 2012.
