Matthew Swift is an experienced partner in the restaurant and hospitality industry, holding positions at various establishments since 2007, including BlackStone Restaurant and Reds Alehouse. Matthew has been instrumental in the founding and development of Big Grove Brewery and has continued to expand involvement in multiple venues such as Hamburg Inn No. 2, Saint Burch Tavern, Pullman Bar & Diner, and 30hop, LLC. Matthew's extensive career reflects a strong commitment to the culinary landscape, supported by an educational background from the University of Iowa.

We opened our doors in Solon, Iowa on Labor Day weekend 2013—not knowing what would become of our small brewery, now nearly 10 years later. Thank you for being a part of the magic. Our menu is an expression of growing up in Iowa, a mix of old tradition and new, but always served with warm hospitality. Our food is authentically prepared with attention to detail and sources home-grown ingredients whenever possible. - Doug, Matt, Ben, and the Big Grove Family Iowa City's Big Grove Brewery and Taproom is a 28,000 sq-ft brewery, restaurant and entertainment venue. Stop in for one of our award-winning beers on tap and enjoy casual dining from a menu of street-food inspired small plates and sandwiches. Choose your own adventure with a game of ping pong, foosball, or shuffleboard and soak in some live music. Our outdoor space is never closed; if you’re up to it, have at it. Enjoy our outdoor, dog-friendly patio and lawn. The lawn features bocce ball courts, bags, a kids play area and anything else you can imagine.
