Gloria Neequaye is an accomplished event coordinator at Cornell University, actively serving as the Event Coordinator for the Pan African Students’ Association and co-president of Ghanaians at Cornell, where oversight of financial aspects for events in the Ghanaian community is paramount. Additionally, Gloria holds a scholarship position with Big Shoulders Fund and participates in professional development programs through Thrive Scholars and other organizations. Previous roles include research intern at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, population health intern at Oak Street Health, and substitute summer school preschool teacher, showcasing a diverse skill set in research, health, education, and community engagement. As a student representative on the Diversity, Equity, and Belonging Committee, Gloria contributed to institutional improvements, while leadership roles in various student organizations underline a commitment to promoting Black culture and community. Gloria is pursuing a degree at Cornell University, building on a foundation established at Saint Ignatius College Prep.
Big Shoulders Fund
Big Shoulders Fund is an independent charitable organization that serves schools with demonstrated need, which provide a quality, values-based education for Chicago’s children, thereby contributing to stronger communities. One hundred percent of funds currently raised support four major areas – scholarships and enrichment, operational improvements, academic programs, and leadership development– with the goal of not just strengthening schools, but whole communities, and preparing students for life-long success.
