Latif Abdul

Latif Abdul, PhD, CISSP, PMP is a highly experienced professional with a strong background in cloud architecture, IT management, and project management. Latif currently serves as a Principal Cloud Architect at BigBear.ai, where they lead the development of a machine learning-based predictive analytics system for military and intelligence analysts. In this role, they leverage AWS Elastic Container Systems and Spring Cloud to build middleware APIs and utilizes large PostgreSQL and Elastic Search-based data backends.

Prior to their current position, Latif worked as an Independent Consultant, serving as an API Developer and Cloud Solution Architect. Latif also held the position of Senior Manager and Cloud Solutions Architect at Capgemini, where they led customer projects and developed full-stack cloud-native applications using technologies such as ReactJS and Cognito User Pools.

Earlier in their career, Latif served as an IT Architecture Manager and Lead Data Architect at KAUST, where they led the architecture program team and designed a cloud-native platform for the university's digital transformation initiative. Latif also held the role of Enterprise SOA Architect at Saudi Aramco, where they were involved in strategic planning activities and launched the Enterprise Single Sign-On project.

Additionally, Latif has worked as a Consultant, J2EE/Portal Architect, and Project Manager at Optimus Solutions, President of System Architects, Inc., Assistant Professor (Visiting) at BRAC University, and Consultant/WebSphere Resident at Mercury Insurance Group. Latif has extensive experience in business process management, service-oriented architecture, and development of highly-available, secure business systems.

Throughout their career, Latif has demonstrated expertise in various technologies and platforms, including WebSphere and BEA Products, Tivoli Identity Manager, and IBM SoftLayer. Latif holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering and certifications in CISSP and PMP.

Latif Abdul, PhD, CISSP, PMP has a diverse education history. Latif obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Science (MS) in Finance and Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University between 1983 and 1989. In 2004, they earned a PhD in Management Information Systems from LaCrosse University. Additionally, they completed an Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy Program from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Sloan School of Management in 2018.

To further enhance their skills, Latif Abdul pursued a Data Science Professional Certificate from Harvard University in 2019. Latif then continued their education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specializing in Data Science and Big Data Analytics: Making Data-Driven Decisions.

Latif Abdul has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. Latif is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate, and AWS Certified Developer - Associate from Amazon Web Services.
