Benjamin Twining

Benjamin Twining is an accomplished professional in the field of ocean sciences, currently serving as the Henry L. & Grace Doherty Vice President for Education and Senior Research Scientist at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences since August 2008. In addition to these roles, Benjamin has held positions including Vice President for Research and Education, Interim Executive Director, and Director of Research and Education. At Colby College, Benjamin has been a Research Scientist since 2009. Prior experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina from August 2005 to August 2008 and being a Graduate Student at Stony Brook University from 1998 to 2003, where a Doctor of Philosophy in Coastal Oceanography was obtained. Benjamin also holds an AB in Environmental Science and Public Policy from Harvard University, obtained between 1993 and 1997, and is affiliated with The School for Field Studies since 1996.
