Rosalynn Sylvan

Managing Director, COBRA at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences

Rosalynn Sylvan has over fifteen years of experience in the field of ocean sciences. Rosalynn is currently the managing director of COBRA at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences. Prior to their current position, Sylvan was a freelance editor for Compuscript Limited, postdoctoral research associate at Rutgers University, and NNEMS Graduate Research Fellow at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Sylvan’s experience and expertise in ocean sciences has led their to be highly sought after by various organizations. Rosalynn has been an invited speaker at numerous conferences and symposia, and their work has been published in many peer-reviewed journals. Sylvan’s passion for ocean sciences is evident in their work, and they are dedicated to furthering our understanding of this complex and ever-changing field.

Rosalynn Sylvan received their Doctor of Philosophy in Marine Sciences from the University of Georgia - Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Rosalynn also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia.

They work with Barney Balch - Senior Research Scientist, Ramunas Stepanauskas - Senior Research Scientist, Single Cell Genomics Center Director Director SCGC, and John Burns - Senior Research Scientist. Rosalynn Sylvan reports to Deborah Bronk, President & CEO.
