Ellen Baron

Dr. Baron is a Managing Director at Outcome Capital, a financial firm focused on life science advisory services. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Sixth Element Capital, a UK-based oncology focused venture capital fund and SFH, a Maine-based nutraceutical company. Dr. Baron spent 9 years as Partner at Oxford Bioscience Partners, a Boston-based life science venture capital firm where she led numerous therapeutic and diagnostic investments within the $1 billion portfolio of 149 companies. Dr. Baron served as Senior Vice President, Business Development at Human Genome Sciences, and previous to that, spent 20 years at Schering-Plough Corporation in both Research and Development and Business Development roles. She has over 30 years of operating and investment expertise across the spectrum of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, with particular emphasis in oncology, neurology, and infectious disease. Ellen holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Georgetown University School of Medicine and a post-doctorate at the Public Health Research Institute in New York.
