Mareshah Wheeler

Mareshah Wheeler is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Assistant General Counsel for Global Tax at the Gates Foundation since August 2025. Prior experience includes serving as Staff Counsel for International Operations at the Association of Public Health Laboratories from September 2021 to August 2025 and as Staff Counsel at Arabella Advisors from October 2018 to September 2021. Mareshah's legal journey began with roles as a Law Clerk at the Louisiana Department of Justice and the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus, as well as a Student Attorney at the Southern University Law Center Low Income Tax Clinic, where responsibilities included managing caseloads for low-income clients and researching tax issues. Mareshah's educational background includes a Juris Doctor degree from Southern University Law Center and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and African American Studies from Louisiana State University.
