Nicole Frahm

Head of Biomarker Development at Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute

Nicole Frahm has had a diverse work experience in the field of medical research. Nicole currently serves as the Head of Biomarker Development at the Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute since February 2023. Prior to this, they were the Exploratory Biomarker Leader at the same institute from November 2018 to February 2023. Frahm also worked at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, where they held multiple roles such as Affiliate Associate Member from November 2018 to February 2023, Associate Director of Laboratory Science, HVTN from April 2008 to October 2018, and Assistant Member from April 2008 to December 2013. Nicole has also contributed to the University of Washington as an Associate Professor from July 2014 to October 2018 and as an Assistant Professor from August 2008 to June 2014. Additionally, Frahm gained experience at the Massachusetts General Hospital as an Assistant in Immunology from April 2006 to March 2008 and as a postdoc from October 2001 to March 2006. Nicole also held roles at the Harvard Medical School as an Instructor in Medicine and postdoc from October 2001 to March 2006. Frahm began their career as a PhD student at the Helmholtz Zentrum für Infektionsforschung from 1996 to 1998. With a strong background in medical research, Frahm has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and expertise in their field.

Nicole Frahm attended the University of Hamburg from 1998 to 2003, where they pursued a PhD in Immunology. Prior to their PhD, they completed their Master's degree in Biotechnology at Technische Universität Braunschweig from 1990 to 1996.
