Shawn DiTommaso

Shawn DiTommaso has a diverse background in the healthcare and clinical research industry. Shawn currently serves as the Interim Clinical Trial Leader at the Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute, where they manage and leads the day-to-day operations of a global tuberculosis treatment shortening trial. Shawn is responsible for vendor management, budget tracking, and ensuring compliance with applicable guidelines and regulatory requirements. Shawn also plays a key role in developing study-related documents and overseeing various study activities.

Prior to their current role, Shawn worked as a Clinical Trial Specialist at the Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute and as an Associate Clinical Project Manager and Clinical Trial Associate at Advanced Clinical. In these positions, they gained experience in project and trial management, including protocol development, site selection, and clinical supply planning.

Shawn also has experience working as an Emergency Medical Technician at Transformative Healthcare, a Clinical Research Associate at Candel Therapeutics, and a Clinical Research Coordinator at Boston Clinical Trials. These roles further enhanced their knowledge and skills in patient care, research coordination, and data management.

Shawn DiTommaso is a candidate for a Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology & Biostatistics at Tufts University School of Medicine, where they studied from 2021 to 2024. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Premedical and Health Studies from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, where they attended from 2013 to 2017. In addition to their formal education, Shawn has several certifications, including Emergency Medical Technician, Basic from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians in March 2023, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) from the American Heart Association in December 2022, Good Clinical Practice from The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) in April 2021, and a Real Estate Salesperson certification from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in January 2022.
