In 2000, Nyström enrolled at Linköping University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering of Media and Communications. Gunilla completed their studies in 2004. During their time at Linköping University, they also participated in a management program in 2004, focusing on the importance of branding.

Nyström continued to expand their skills and knowledge through various courses and programs. In 2004, they completed Affärsutvecklings- och ledarskapskurser (Business Development and Leadership Courses) at Östsvenska Handelskammaren.
