Lauren Murphy

Lauren Murphy is an experienced genetic counselor with a career spanning over a decade in various roles related to genetic counseling and research. Currently serving as a Contract Genetic Counselor at BillionToOne since April 2023, Lauren previously held positions at Invitae as a Reproductive Health Genetic Counselor and at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston as a Prenatal Genetic Counselor and Assistant Professor. Earlier experience includes working as a Prenatal Genetic Counselor at Baylor College of Medicine and as a Genetic Counselor at LabCorp. Lauren began her career as a Research Assistant at NYSPI/Columbia, focusing on psychiatric genetics research. Lauren holds a Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and a Bachelor’s degree from Barnard College.
