Reilly C. is a Microbial Ecologist currently working at Upward Farms since June 2021, where focus is on harnessing the aquaponic microbiome to drive research and development efforts in microbial ecology and computational biology. Prior experience includes serving as a Graduate Presidential Research Fellow at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from August 2016 to July 2021, characterizing the metagenome of Daphnia magna and developing bioinformatics pipelines linking host traits to microbiome functions. Reilly also contributed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Ecology & Evolution Laboratory at UNL, guided undergraduate research projects, and interned at Phase Genomics, developing computational tools for metagenome analysis. Earlier, Reilly was an Undergraduate Research Fellow at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, engaging in food web analysis through the Jefferson Project at Lake George. Education includes a PhD in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a BS in Biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
