Michael Barton-Gawryn started their career as an Engineer Intern at Notkin Engineering in 2007. In 2008, they joined DNV Global Energy Concepts, Inc as an Engineering Intern and later became an Engineer. During their time at DNV, they overhauled an existing data management platform, significantly reducing data rebuild time. In 2013, Michael joined Caradigm (Microsoft HSG) as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed micro-service RESTful architecture, served as a core team member of the platform team for the population health management application portfolio, and focused on scalable fault-tolerant systems. Michael also played a key role in implementing TDD and Agile development methodologies. Since 2017, Michael has been working at Billtrust as a Senior Software Engineer.

Michael Barton-Gawryn holds a Master's degree in Software Engineering from Seattle University, which they earned from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Seattle University from 2005 to 2009, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
