Dr. Mark Barnett currently serves as the Technical Director for Catchment Services and Natural Capital at Binnies since August 2023. Prior to this position, Dr. Barnett held the role of Senior Environmental Assessment Manager at Nuclear Waste Services from September 2020 to August 2023, and was a Principal Consultant at APEM Ltd from March 2018 to September 2020. Dr. Barnett's earlier experience includes significant positions at Wood and Amec Foster Wheeler as a Principal Consultant, as well as an Environment Planning Specialist & Catchment Coordinator at the Environment Agency from June 2006 to October 2015. In this capacity, Dr. Barnett contributed to the establishment of catchment partnerships, funded projects to enhance water quality, collaborated with Thames Water on significant schemes, and led numerous investigations related to the Water Framework Directive. Dr. Barnett's educational background includes a PhD in Environmental Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Marine and Freshwater Biology, both from the University of Essex.
