Lisa Burnette, PhD has a diverse work experience in the microbiology and quality control fields. Lisa is currently working as the QA/QC Lead Microbiologist at BIO-CAT Enzymes & Microbials since March 2019. Previously, they served as the MN 4-H STEM Program Coordinator at the University of Minnesota from June 2016 to March 2018. Before that, they worked as a Research Assistant and Instructor at the University of North Dakota from January 2016 to May 2016, where they conducted research and taught microbiology courses and labs. Earlier in their career, they were a Quality Control Auditor at E.A. Sween - Deli Express from October 2007 to July 2009, where they monitored food quality and safety and implemented GMP and HACCP procedures. Lisa started their professional journey as a Sales Associate at Menards from March 2004 to December 2007.

Lisa Burnette, PhD earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Forensic Science and Chemistry from the University of North Dakota in 2007. Lisa then went on to pursue their PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences from 2009 to 2015.
