Martin Baatz

Martin Baatz has extensive work experience in the field of health and technology. Martin is currently the Chief Operating Officer at BioAI Health since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Partner at OKIPA Ltd starting from March 2022. Martin also served as the Chief Commercialization Officer at Panakeia from June 2021 to August 2022.

Previously, Martin was a Cohort Member and Founder in Residence at Entrepreneur First from September 2020 to December 2020. Martin also held various roles at Definiens, The Tissue Phenomics Company, including Chief Services Officer from August 2017 to September 2019, General Manager at AstraZeneca Definiens from August 2019 to September 2020, Vice President Professional Services from January 2013 to July 2017, Vice President Marketing from July 2010 to December 2012, Vice President Solutions & Services from June 2008 to July 2010, and Vice President Advanced Technology from June 2006 to June 2008.

Martin also had significant roles at Definiens, where they worked as Director Cognition Network Technology from May 2004 to May 2006, Director Business Development from November 2002 to April 2004, and Director Product Development from May 2000 to October 2002. Martin started their career at Delphi Systemsimulation (later known as Definens) as the Head of Image Analysis and Pattern Recognition from March 1998 to May 2000, and as an Evolutionary Biologist and Scientist in Image Analysis from January 1996 to March 1998.

Martin Baatz began their education in 1991 by attending the Master Class of Sergiu Celibidache, where they studied conducting until 1996. In 1993, they enrolled at Yale University and the University of Vienna, where they pursued a field of study in Biology, specifically focusing on Evolutionary and Systems Theory. At the University of Vienna, they successfully completed a PhD program, earning a degree in Biology with a specialization in Evolutionary and Systems Theory in 1995.
