Alison Porter has worked in the scientific field since 2000. Alison began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the University of Glasgow, where they studied the regulation and internalisation of beta-1 and beta-2 G-Protein coupled receptors and their GFP tagged forms. Techniques used included molecular biology, mammalian cell culture and transfections, radioligand binding assays, cAMP assays, confocal microscopy and western blotting.
In 2003, Porter moved to Organon, where they held the roles of Senior Scientist and Scientist. Alison then moved to Schering-Plough Research Institute in 2007, where they were a Senior Scientist. In 2009, Porter moved to Merck, where they were also a Senior Scientist. From 2011 to 2014, they worked at BioOutsource as a Senior Scientist and Study Manager, as well as a Scientist and Study Manager. In 2019, Porter took on the role of Senior Scientist at BioAscent.
Alison Porter obtained a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Glasgow in 1996, followed by a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the same institution in 2000.
