Mhairi Matheson

Mhairi Matheson has worked in the field of drug discovery since 2005. Mhairi began their career as an undergraduate summer student at the University of Glasgow, where they worked on the synthesis of silicon-containing amino acids for potential drug candidates. Mhairi then completed their MSci in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Glasgow, and subsequently spent a year as an Industrial Trainee at Syngenta. In 2015, they began working as a Drug Discovery Scientist (Postdoctoral Researcher) at the University of Dundee, where they were part of the European Lead Factory. In 2018, they joined BioAscent as a Senior Scientist - Medicinal Chemist, where they provided medicinal chemistry, in vitro biosciences and compound management services.

Mhairi Matheson holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the University of Glasgow.
