Robin Hall has been working in the chemical industry since 1990, starting as a Research Chemist at Maybridge Chemical Co. in Tintagel. In 2002, they moved to Key Organics, where they served as Principal Chemist and FTE Group Co-ordinator. In 2007, they took on the role of Project Director at Edinburgh Pharmaceutical Processes. Currently, they are a Senior Scientist at BioAscent.

Robin Hall obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biological Chemistry from Queen Mary University of London between 1984 and 1987. Following this, they pursued a Ph.D in Synthesis of Polymethoxylated Ellipticine Analogues at the University of Wales, Cardiff, graduating in 1990.
