Nitin Kumar

Nitin Kumar, PhD, is an experienced professional in fermentation and bioprocess development, currently serving as the Associate Scientific Manager for Fermentation at Biocon since January 2021, leading early-stage process development and late-stage scale-up. Prior experience includes roles in manufacturing science at SUN PHARMA, where Nitin contributed to the commissioning of a cGMP facility, and as Manager at Virchow Biotech Pvt Ltd, leading insulin analogues' clone and process development. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, focusing on fermentation technology and metabolic engineering, along with an Erasmus Mundus Experts PhD exchange at Instituto Superior Técnico. Nitin has also held academic positions, including Assistant Professor in industrial microbiology, and has engaged in research roles involving large-scale fermentation processes and molecular biology.
