Mary Thigpen

Mary Thigpen is an experienced healthcare professional with a focus on rare diseases and pharmaceuticals. Currently serving as a Rare Disease Specialist at BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since July 2020, Mary previously held the position of Regional Business Account Executive at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals from February 2018 to March 2020. Prior to that, Mary worked at Shire as a Regional Business Manager for Lysosomal Storage Disorders and National Field Sales Trainer from February 2011 to February 2018. Mary’s early career includes roles as Executive Sales Representative in the Neuroscience business unit at Shire, NeuroScience Senior Sales Specialist at Novartis, and Senior Sales Representative at Eli Lilly and Company. Mary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Appalachian State University, earned between 1994 and 1998.
