Joy Z. is a high school student at San Mateo High School, pursuing a diploma with an expected graduation in 2025. Joy Z. has gained extensive experience through various internships and leadership roles, including positions as a Research Intern at Berkeley Lab and Stanford Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and Imaging, an Ambassador for IGNITE National, and the Pacific Coast Coalition Lead for Girl Up at the United Nations Foundation. Additionally, Joy Z. serves as the State Policy Director for Generation Ratify, an intern in the Mayor's Office for the City of San Mateo, and previously held positions as a District Intern at the California State Senate and a BeaverWorks Scholar at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Prior experience also includes working as a Logistics Coordinator at Kodely and a researcher in the Aspiring Scholars Directed Research Program.
