Maria Chavez

Maria Chavez has a diverse work experience with a range of roles in various organizations. Their most recent position was as a Board Member at the Mistletoe Foundation, starting in 2019. Prior to this, they held multiple roles at BioCurious, including Executive Director, Board Member/Treasurer, and Class Manager/Volunteer. There, they managed and coordinated classes and offsite events, as well as developed a Corporate Sponsorship package. Maria also worked as a Project Member at Open Insulin and as a Board Member at Real Vegan Cheese, where they assisted with fundraising efforts and helped prepare materials for competition.

In the past, Maria served as a Development Manager at The Parkinson's Institute and Clinical Center and worked as a Database Manager & Grants Specialist at InnVision. Additionally, they gained experience as a Marketing Coordinator at FileMaker Inc. and held various positions at Southwest Cyberport, including DSL Manager, Technical Trainer, and Technical Support. Maria's early career included a role as a Computer Specialist/Machinist at Sine Qua Non.

Maria Chavez earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BS/IT), with a focus on Programming & Operating Systems, from the University of Phoenix. Maria attended university from 1999 to 2002. Later, Maria pursued a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Global Management from the University of Phoenix, studying from 2002 to 2005.
