Senior Scientist I/ Study Director at Biocytogen

Luo (Jack) Jia, PhD has a diverse range of work experience in the field of immunology and medical research. Luo (Jack) has worked as a Senior Scientist I/Study Director at Biocytogen since 2024. Prior to that, they were a Scientist II at Seres Therapeutics from 2022 to 2023, where they played a key role in analyzing RNA-seq data for patient population stratification in clinical trials. Luo (Jack) also co-drafted biomarkers for a drug candidate study. Jia holds a position as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Rutgers University from June 2021 to December 2021. Before that, they worked as an Immunologist and IBD researcher- Graduate Research Fellow at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School from 2016 to 2021. In this role, they discovered and studied microbiome-associated intestinal gamma delta T cells and their impact on mucosal barrier protection. Jia also served as President of the Rutgers NJMS Chinese Students & Scholars Association from 2017 to 2020, where they worked to support Chinese students and scholars and foster community connections. In addition, they have experience as a Visiting Researcher at Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center in 2015, investigating the mechanisms behind Wilms' tumor in children. Jia also worked as a Visiting Research Scientist at Oregon State University in 2014, focusing on immunological readouts in a parasites co-infection model.

Luo (Jack) Jia, PhD, holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Immunity, Infection, and Inflammation, which they obtained from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School from 2015 to 2021. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Microbiology and Immunology, with a focus on animal medicine, from Huazhong Agricultural University from 2011 to 2015. Luo (Jack) also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science and Engineering, which they completed at Jilin Agricultural University from 2007 to 2011. In addition to their academic achievements, Luo Jia has obtained certifications in Biomedical / Clinical Research Investigators from the CITI Program in May 2021 and in the SciPhD Certificate Program- The Business of Science for Scientists from SciPhD.com in 2021.
