Michael Yi

Michael Yi is a seasoned immunology researcher currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Biogen since August 2025. Previously, Michael held the position of Associate Director at CARGO Therapeutics from August 2021 to May 2025, leading projects focused on novel allogeneic platform technology and the design of viral vectors for CAR T cell persistence. Prior to that, Michael was a Senior Scientist II at CARGO Therapeutics, contributing to the preclinical development of trispecific CAR T therapies. Michael's experience also includes a role as Senior Scientist at Allogene Therapeutics, where the focus was on developing next-generation strategies to prevent allogeneic rejection of CAR T cells. Earlier career roles include Scientist II and Scientist at PACT Pharma, where foundational work in drug development and high-throughput platforms was accomplished. Michael's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University and a BS in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Tufts University.
