James McCarter

James McCarter is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in medical affairs, clinical research, and biotechnology. Currently, McCarter serves as the Director of Medical Affairs and Clinical Research for Abbott Lingo Biowearables, leading efforts on a biosensing technology that monitors key health biomarkers. Previous roles include Medical Director at Abbott Diabetes Care, Senior Entrepreneur in Residence at BioGenerator, and Adjunct Professor of Genetics at Washington University School of Medicine. McCarter has also been instrumental in startups, such as serving as Head of Research at Virta Health and Founder of Divergence, Inc. McCarter holds an M.D. and Ph.D. in Developmental Biology and Genetics from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.
